Blanket Meditation
Sit comfortably on a chair with your back upright and
your feet on the floor. Begin by taking several deep
breaths, letting your body relax with every breath.
Envisage a big thick blanket being wrapped snugly around
your entire body. Imagine a colour and texture for the
blanket that is right for you at this time. Let yourself
enjoy the warmth and comfort it brings as it envelops
you.
Notice the warmth penetrating your physical body, letting
it go deeper and deeper into the core of your being.
Allow all your stress and anxiety to be drawn out of
your body and be absorbed by the blanket, leaving your
body feeling cleansed and relaxed.
When you feel all the tension has been absorbed by
the blanket and your body is relaxed, envisage the blanket
falling away from your body. As the blanket hits the
floor, let it dissolve. You are left feeling relaxed
and refreshed.
Return to waking consciousness, being fully aware of
your surroundings.
