  Hello

I hope you are all feeling well rested after the Easter break. Many of us forget that relaxation and fun are just as important as work!

In this newsetter, I have included a lovely meditation that will assist with self acceptance and love, and also a stress reduction technique that is particularly effective when facing criticism from others. Remember, it is useful to keep experimenting with the different techniques until you find the ones that are most effective for you.

Best wishes
Alison

Why does our energy get out of balance?

Our personal energies are delicately balanced and can be easily disturbed or blocked, leaving us feeling delepeted, sick, or “not quite right”. Energy imbalances can result from a variety of internal and/or external factors.

Internal factors impacting our energy system can include:
• Trauma
• Phobias
• Anxiety & stress
• Childhood programming
• Limiting beliefs
• Neurological, biochemical, and structural imbalances
• Lack of fulfilment in our life situations

External factors impacting our energy systems can include:
• Environmental stresses
• Nutrition
• Exercise
• Toxins
• Geopathic phenomena
• Astrological phenomena
• Posture

It is helpful to be aware of the factors that may affect us, so we can take precautionary action or seek assistance to rectify such imbalances when we know they are likely to have occurred.

Rose Meditation

The meditation in this newletter is called The Rose Within. It helps us find self acceptance and self love by accessing our inner beauty. We are then able to share these qualities and appreciate them in others.

Stress Management

"If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment." - Marcus Aurelius Antoninus (121 AD - 180 AD)

When we feel criticized or slighted by someone, our immediate response is to shrink and think badly of ourselves, or to become defensive and strike back at the other person. Yet, if we take the truth from the statement above, our response is really only a measure of our own insecurity. When we feel confident and good about ourselves we don't care what others think.

Outlined below is a simple technique for you to try, which reprograms how the brain stores memories and responds to triggers.

  1. Picture yourself as you normally respond in the face of criticism (think of a situation where this has occurred). Notice all details about that picture, including its size, brightness, proximity to you. Now try and see yourself facing criticism with soft eyes, calm breathing and a thoughtful state of mind (and any other details about how you’d like to be in the circumstance).
  2. Switch back to the original picture and then impose the new picture in the bottom left hand corner. See that picture growing until it covers the old picture entirely.
  3. Repeat Step 2 five times, quickly growing the new picture to cover the old.
  4. Now check back to the original situation you thought of to see if your mental picture shifts now to the new you. If it doesn't, repeat Step 2 a few more times.

Something Interesting...

The Australian Bush Flower remedy spray "Space Clearing" is a must for everyone. It is useful both at home and at work. It's great for those times when you walk into a room and it just doesn't feel right, or you're in a space where people are tense, upset or have been arguing. It helps to clear negative and accumulated energy, leaving the room feeling lighter and clearer.
