The focus of this newsletter is about using positive messages
and reinforcement to help us get through difficult times.
A positive mindset and focus is imperative to achieve our
heart's desires, so it makes sense to use resources available
to support you in times of doubt, fear and loss of faith.
Please note that I will be unavailable for appointments
for the first three weeks of October. Also, I will no longer
be working in Bondi Junction , but I will now be available
five days a week in Paddington.
Warm wishes

We all experience times when we feel fantastic. Unfortunately,
there are other times when we feel the total opposite (whether
it be anxiety, ill health or depression). One of the reasons
for (and a by product of) doing healing, and personal and
spiritual development is to swing the balance to have more
time in “positive” experience and less in the
“negative”. Even experiencing states that we
label as “negative”, can help us grow if we
approach them in positive way. If we can change our perspective,
we can look at these undesired states as showing us what
is not working in our lives and where we are blocked, so
that we can then make life enhancing changes for ourselves.
When you are experiencing ill-ease in any form, it is helpful
to get assistance from others to help you move out of this
state quickly and as easily as possible. Ensure you spend
time with people that can help to lift your spirits rather
than drag you further down. For example, if you know you
have a particularly negative friend, avoid hanging out with
them until you feel stronger. I also highly recommend to
reading positive and uplifting material in books. If you
have books that provide positive guidance or messages, seek
them out and re-read them. All positive encouragement helps!
If you don't have any such books, go to a bookshop and scan
the shelves until something draws your attention.
Reading inspirational books (self-development, spiritual)
can help you to gain awareness of the issues in your life
and where changes could be made. Importantly, it also helps
to highlight any limiting beliefs. I have noticed that regular
reading of inspirational material alone helps to change
people’s limiting belief structures, as the positive
messages are constantly being reinforced.
Try using your natural intuition to choose a book and page
of the book that has the message you need to hear. It is
the same way that you might pull a tarot, angel or wisdom
card to get a message. All you need to do is have an intent
to get the message or inspiration that you need for your
highest good and then open the book up at any page (or pick
a card).
If you are aware of holding limiting beliefs structures
and are finding them difficult to change, work with a practitioner
who can help you with this.

A mantra is a word or phrase of power
that is spoken with intention. Mantras traditionally have
some mystical, religious or spiritual significance, but
the application can extend to any affirmation or word that
is meaningful for us as individuals. Mantras are chanted
repeatedly aloud, or may be repeated silently.
All sound has a vibration and the repetition of
powerful words helps to imbue the positive vibration in
the person repeating the chant. This produces a
change in the mental state of the person and, depending
on the mantra, can have a relaxing, soothing, healing or
consciousness raising affect. For example repeatedly chanting
an affirmation for self-confidence or peace, will over time
change any subconscious belief structures to the contrary.
Two of the most well know mantras are:
OM - (aum) In Hindu tradition,
the first sound and perfect expression of the divine idea.
Om mani padme hum - a Buddhist
chant that translates as ‘hail to the jewel in the
lotus, which means the Buddha nature or divine spark within
us.
It is also common in different religions to chant the name
of that God.

This is a quick exercise to show you how
you are using your energy:
Imagine that you have a certain amount of energy
that you can utilise on a daily basis, say one hundred units
(eg 100%) for the purposes of the exercise. This energy
is to be used for mental and emotional activity, as well
as all your physical activity.
When you wake up in the morning, notice what you immediately
start thinking about. Are you thinking or worrying
about things that have already happened, that could happen
(but probably won't), or things that you have no control
over? Estimate what percentage of your mind space
those thoughts are taking up (eg is it 20% or maybe 80%?).
Now be aware of what percentage of your thoughts
are focused on you - your needs, what's important
for you, what you'd love to be doing, what you can do to
keep yourself, happy, healthy and well?
Be aware of the balance of your thoughts. Ideally the
thoughts would all be in the second category. They are positive
or life enhancing for you. We can label the former category
as "unhealthy" thoughts that waste your limited
energy.
Now notice how much of your time you spend thinking, with
thoughts going around and around in your head? How many
units of your limited energy do you estimate you are expending
on mental activity, rather than being fully in the moment
and focused on what you are doing?
How many units of energy are left to deal with your daily
activites?
Use this quick audit to give you an awareness of your unconscious
behaviour and then consciously choose to expend your energy
in positive, life enhancing ways.
"The robbers of time are the past and the future.
Man should bless the past, and forget it, if it keeps him
in bondage, and bless the future, knowing it has in store
for him endless joys, but live fully in the now."

Money and finances are areas of great stress
for many people. There are many books available that can
help you gain a fresh perspective on these areas, alert
you to where you may be blocked or have limiting belief
structures, and give you tools to help change them.
Below are three quite different books that
I have found helpful in helping to change limiting beliefs.
See which, if any, you feel drawn to read:
Creating
Money by Sanaya Roman & Duane Packer
The
Game of Life (& The Secret Door to Success)
by Florence Scovel Shinn
The
Magician’s Way by William Whitecloud
